What I did
The challenge
Three Mobile required a Digital Content Editor to work in its Agile website development team to undertake the management of its UK website. This included managing multiple workstreams and responding to changing commercial priorities while also maintaining content and design standards across a high-traffic consumer website.
My approach
Working alongside the digital product team, I established best practice processes to set the wider team up for success. These processes included:
- identifying clear communication channels to ensure the entire team was aligned
- collaborating with stakeholders to clarify project requirements
- translating business requirements into clearly defined user-centred briefs
- defining rigorous testing to ensure the integrity of work before publication
- delivering production-ready website assets
Every new page and feature on the Three website was clearly defined using both the Three Mobile brand guidelines and style guide. From here, I undertook quick wireframing and prototyping in testing environments to ensure the quality of all work before moving all new work into production.
The production-ready work was moved into the live Three Mobile website using a complex content management system that required HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills to ensure correct and efficient functionality.
The outcome
Throughout the 12 months I worked with the organisation, I consistently led on high-profile product launches and supported regular marketing campaigns on the Three Mobile website. This was supported by the introduction of best working practices and efficient collaboration among internal stakeholders.
As a result, the business saw increased user engagement across key commercial areas of the website while the design process improved significantly, allowing the business to increase product launches throughout the calendar year.
